Make Perfect Heart Shaped Pancakes Or Eggs
Wood Handles Which Fold Down For Storage
One 4-Inch Ring in Heart Shape
We have yet to find the "perfect" egg rings, but these work very well. (They are superior to others we have tried.) Some egg oozes under the rings when cooking. To minimize this, we preheat the rings in the pan before adding the egg. It's not perfect, but it seems to help and oozing really is minimal. There's a little finessing to get the eggs out of the rings. While these are non-stick, we still spray the rings with oil to help with releasing the eggs once done. Cleaning is relatively easy -- We clean up egg residue and pop them in the dishwasher. No problems with the nonstick finish coming off or rusting like we've experienced with other rings we had. Have had these about 6 months and use them frequently. They get stars in our house! (reserving 5 stars for the "perfect" egg rings.)The egg or batter tends to stick to the ring, so it's a good idea to use oil or butter on the ring before putting the food in to cook. Otherwise, it's a fun little, silly tool for cooking! I surprised my boyfriend with heart-shaped eggs and pancakes one morning.I'm not sure how I got the idea (maybe the pictures), but I thought that I was going to get 2 rings. This is only 1, a single ring! So if you want to make a big breakfast with everything heart-shaped it's going to take awhile. Should order more than 1 in that case (:I hardly use these rings any more. The non-stick layers are not so non stick, and in my opinion the ring is not tall enough. I mainly used it for pancakes (I don't really care for the shape of fried eggs much), and the edge is definitely too low, as once the dough start rising, it'll come out of the ring. But of course since this is not designed for pancakes, that shouldn't be complained here. Hell I want it to be multi-pupose!Initially I thought these rings were okay. Not great, they are very lightweight and egg would leak under but not to any great extent. However, all that changed with my last use. I have used one of the rings half a dozen times or less. But when washing after the last use, I noticed a large chunk of the paint/non-stick coating was missing. This would imply that it came off on the egg while it was cooking and I must have eaten it. Disconcerting - if the coating is inert. Frightening if it is not. I could not recommend these rings to anyone for that reason. These egg rings are perfectly sized for an English Muffin. They are very sturdy. Supposedly they have a non-stick coating, but eggs will stick in them unless you apply a swipe of oil or butter inside before using (no big deal). They are very easy to clean, and are dishwasher safe. I haven't used them for anything else but eggs, but am quite pleased with them. If I could change anything about them, it would be to add a small handle for removing them from the egg/pan, but since they are not so equipped, a pair of tongs works just fine. The rings I received look like they were made with 19th century technology except for the coating. It is not a continuous metal ring but sheet steel rolled into a ring and crimped. The edges of the ring are crudely rolled to give it strength and this makes for an unappealing appearance. One of the two rings is so far from being flat that it allows egg to escape before it has time to cook. I think "ringoid" would be a better description.Try one of the silicone rubber ones, they cost more but work really well and clean easilly....but while they make perfect eggs, they have a tendency for the eggs to stick to the edges, you have to use a spray or just be very careful not to tear your eggs.I purchased these rings to make eggs for an egg mcmuffin type recipe, but shortly after I started using them the paint began to peel.I was finally forced to strip the paint off and repaint with black stove paint. The only good thing about these rings are the handles, they make it easier to remove the rings after the egg has set..NON-STICK COATING CAME OFF THE FIRST TIME THEY WERE USED.I wasn't very impressed with the quality of the product. Even though I sprayed the insides with oil, the eggs still stuck on. After soaking them overnight, even using a Scotch Brite pad scrubbed off some of the supposed non-stick coating. After 3 uses, there's more metal showing than coating. Definitely going to go for silicone next time.dopo 4 usi l'anti aderente si scrosta. Carino le prime volte che l'ho usato ma poi messo da parte. Pessimo. After 4 uses the non stick scratches. Nice at first, I used it for a while then put aside. AwfulCute, and easier to clean than you might think--if you non-stick spray it first! I like to use it for eggs.Too bad they don't make them Non-stick
