I like this incubator. I am only getting about 50-60% hatch rate. I believe this is because the humidity is difficult to control. It can be added from the back, but I tend to lift the lid and squirt it on both sides of the egg turner. In the beginning, add about a half a bottle, then when the buzzer sounds, add to the count of 5. Then check it after about 20 minutes and the humidity will be too high. I put a pencil between the lid and bottom to prop it open at that point, because I can't see any vent holes. The thing upsetting about my low hatch rate is that most of the chicks are fully developed. I think this is a humidity issue. This unit would only work for someone who is at home and able to check on it 4-6 times daily to add water.In general this was pretty easy to use. Unfortunately the auto turner didn't work for me so I had to open it and turn the eggs a few times a day for the 18 days before lockdown that got tiresome for me. This was my first attempt at hatching so I find this to be a success.if you have kids I suggest something that locks or can be put up where they can't get to it. Instructions were difficult for me but I Googled everything I needed to know apparently each device has different temperature suggestions and days so I recommend double checking the instructions on hatching.I love the size and the display panel. However, heat escapes letting out the humidity as the kids doesn’t seal securely.Works great, easy setup and very reliable. I’ve had one issue where a chick drowned on the water receptacle, reason for 4 stars, very happy with purchase and how well the machine works for the price I paid.The humidity gage does no justice at all for this incubator as you see I had to go buy a humidity reader to make sure my babies would hatch we are in lock down now and the gage on the incubator won’t go above 62%I bought two, only one of which came with directions in English. The directions are very minimal and I had to guess about functions and buttons to trouble shoot. Overall it works well but could be more user friendlyThe first time I ran it, it overheated and cooked the eggs about a week into incubation. Worked the second time and hatched some chicks. 3rd time I ran it, there was only a week left of incubation and it cooked the chicks inside the eggs. My kids were so upset. This incubator is a piece of crap, DONT BUY IT!!! I also contacted customer service after it overheated the first time, never heard back from them. Waste of moneyI did not have any issues with the function of the equipment up to the hatch. I had a high success hatching rate. However, after hatching, 2 of my 20 chicks drown in my FIRST and ONLY use of this poorly designed machine. The water compartment goes around the inside edge of the incubator and not under the hatching compartment. When chicks are first hatched they are weak and flop around until they get the strength to stand and learn how to walk. My 2 that died just weren’t able to lift their heads out of the water before drowning. Their heads hung over the edge into the water compartment and drown. That’s the position I found them dead. I read a similar review before buying but decided that customer’s experience was probably a fluke. Also, the machine should be taller. The chicks are scrunched down and can’t stand in certain portions of the machine. Don’t buy this incubator !
